Social Enterprise

Access Employment Limited (AEL) runs a number of Social Enterprise businesses. Unlike many other charities over 75% of our income comes from commercial activity. 100% of the profit generated from the commercial activity will go back into delivering the objectives of the Charity!

Constructed during 2015 our horticultural project is ‘state of the art’.  This environmentally friendly project produces fresh vegetables, salad and fruit for our Lunchbox Café. We also package for resale to the general public and other catering businesses. In addition, hanging baskets and potted herbs are proving very popular with our customers. Grown using organic principles both allotments and polytunnels make use of rainwater harvested from the main building and then gravity fed to the plants. We grow the majority of our plants from seed starting on incubation tables progressing to covered raised beds. This ensures traceability throughout the process and means we can guarantee the quality of our produce.

Clearer Water

Ireland’s first ‘ethical bottled water’. A truly unique project, established in 2015, Clearer Water is a top quality bottled water available in both ‘still’ and ‘sparkling’ or as we like to call it ‘With Bubbles’!

Water is bottled at source in our manufacturing plant based in Magheramorne, Co. Antrim. 80% of the workforce are people with disability/difficulty and for most this is their first paid employment. Set up as an employment project for people with disability/difficulty the USP of Clearer Water is the ability through a ‘trace code’ to track not only the product but also the person responsible for bottling your water. That way the person drinking the water has a direct link to the person they have supported by their decision to purchase ‘Clearer Water’.

This is one of our new business enterprises offering a range of services from litter picking and grass cutting to routine maintenance / general repair work. Recently we completed a number of contracts at Belfast International Airport providing ground clearance and surface preparation work for over 11 acres of car parking space. If you require a ‘one-off ‘piece of work or a regularly planned maintenance agreement we will be happy to provide competitive quotations.
